Ready, Set, Invest takes you from why you invest to how you read a deal, written by an operator who has acquired more than 1,100 units and over $150M in assets.
You did what you were supposed to do. You worked hard, earned the title, grew the income. And somewhere along the way you noticed the number in your account doesn't feel like the freedom you were promised.
I call this the High Achievement Trap. The achievements you earned are not always the things you actually value. Most high earners are very good at making money and were never taught what to do with it once it arrives.
Private real estate is where a lot of us start to close that gap. Not to walk away from the work you're good at. To turn the income you already earn into ownership of something real.
Most investing books hand you tactics before you know why you're investing. This one starts where the work actually starts.
Before strategy, before deals, you look at what you actually believe about money and what you want wealth to do for you. The mindset work most investing books skip.
You develop a point of view: where you want to invest, what good looks like, and how to tell a real opportunity from a good story. You learn to source and read a deal.
You execute. Managing risk, and choosing your lane: passive, active, or in full control. This is where curiosity turns into a first investment.

My path went employee to executive to entrepreneur. After a business degree at USC, I was recruited into what was then called the fastest growing company in America, then left to build my own technology distributor. I sold that company in 2022.
Since then I've sponsored thirteen private investment deals, most of them multifamily portfolios: more than 1,100 units and over $150M in assets. The firm I founded, Measured Capital, is building toward ten thousand units. I'm still in it.
I wrote this book because I couldn't find the one I needed when I started. Honest about the work, clear about the risk, and written for someone who already knows how to achieve and wants to learn how to own. When I'm not working on the next deal, I'm a husband and father. I live a few minutes from the beach in Newport Beach.
